ADX40 - Mode of ActionADX40 is rationally designed adjuvant that acts as a potent stimulator of the immune system. Vaccine antigens are conjugated to the ADX40 which acts as a receptor agonist by binding to key complementary receptors on antigen presenting cells and B cells.
This selective receptor binding causes specific immune enhancement to linked vaccine antigens. The result is an enhanced immune response - specific to the vaccine. In immunocompromised individuals such as cancer patients, ADX40 could act as a surrogate or replacement stimulatory/co-stimulatory signal which could overcome the immune tolerance that would otherwise be seen against vaccines. Improving immune responsiveness to co-delivered vaccines could be possible in cancer patients receiving ADX40 as an adjuvant.
